curl removed from Omnibus-GitLab FIPS packages in 19.0
GitLab's Omnibus-GitLab 19.0 release will remove the bundled version of curl from its FIPS packages, requiring customers to use the curl package from their Linux distribution. This change, driven by curl 8.18.0's deprecation of OpenSSL 1.x, aligns with GitLab's existing practice for OpenSSL and impacts all FIPS customers. GitLab 19.0 will be available from May 21, 2026.
