For us at the Stratford Perth Museum, Yapsody has been an integral part of our remarkable growth over the past five years. When we signed up for Yapsody, we had no online tickets options at all and Yapsody was recommended to us by our website provider and a provincial tourism partner. In 2013, we h...ad 853 visitors to the Museum, this year we will have well over 10,000. Over the past few years we have had several high profile exhibits and events where controlling the number of tickets sold was vitally important. So, while Yapsody gives us the ability to sell tickets online, its real value is giving us an up to the minute total as to the number of tickets sold. Given the great online settings, we can quickly close ticket sales from a desktop or even a phone. We used this for the Anne Frank House exhibit, Shakespeare’s First Folio and the Franklin Expedition exhibit from the Royal Ontario Museum. But, the best example was last year for the opening of our Justin Bieber exhibit Steps to Stardom. We had no idea that the opening would be so popular, but weeks in advance, we noticed that ticket sales were through the roof and we closed off sales. On the opening weekend we had patrons from the UK, France as well as all over Canada and the United States. We had to limit the number of people in the exhibit at anyone time. Without Yapsody, we would have had to turn people away at the door – which would have been terrible. |
